Ensure that the title and description of the advertised item or service is thorough and to the point with adequate information. This can be ensured by providing common descriptive words in the postings.
Like, for items, “Blackberry World Edition Clean ESN Model 8830 Cell phone” is a better title than just writing “Blackberry Cell phone”. The title and description should ideally include all the details which are relevant to the items like:
- Model number
- Date of manufacturer
- Warranty period
- Color, dimensions etc.
- Status of the item (new, mint, or used)
- Availability
The description may include conditions, items status or service details (e.g. new, sealed box, damaged, under warranty, corner house, available now etc) but try to be precise while giving as much possible details. No buyer or service seeker would like to read long stories about the item or service. Tell the buyer or service seeker, what are you selling or providing by adding all possible details but using the smallest possible words. The description should be as catchy as possible. Be creative and come up with good words to catch the attention of buyers or service seekers.

Every buyer or service seeker wants to see what he is getting. It’s very important for a seller or service provider to prove that he or she is selling or providing something genuine and photographs of the item or service facility help in establishing it.
It’s a known fact that a photo tells more than a paragraph of text. Also, our site statistics tell us that classified ads with photographs get more hits than ads without photographs. Show buyers or service seekers exactly what you are selling or providing with attractive photographs. Always try to include an actual photo (not stock photo).
While taking photographs, please keep the following in mind -
- Ensure that the digital camera selected for taking the photographs is of good quality (pixel size 5MP or more)

General Tips
- Ensure that the items/services you are selling/providing are not prohibited in certain area or unsuitable for certain people. In such cases, it should be duly mentioned in the Ad. Failing which Collabotrade would take necessary action to remove the Ad from the website.
- In case of any eventualities, be prepared to issue refunds in a timely manner.
- Try to sell or provide services within your community only. Communities help in building a trusted network which in turns allows the buyers and sellers to connect efficiently.
- Choose the most suitable category for your items and services. This helps the buyers and service seekers easily find your items and services. If you do not see a category matching your posting, please let us know and we’ll create one for you.
- Describe your items and services carefully and do not assume that buyers and service seeker know all the details. Explaining the item features or service rules will help you to sell them quickly.
- Collabotrade encourage face-to-face meetings before you close the deal with buyer or service seeker.
- Honor the commitment made at the start of the deal to ensure a successful future sales.
- If a buyers or service seekers contacts you, read their message carefully and respond accordingly. Please note: since your response will be sent to the buyer or seekers via e-mail, your e-mail ID will now be exposed to the buyer or seekers. For faster response, you may also provide your phone number in the message but we discourage releasing your contact information too early in the transaction cycle.
- To save a posting from expiring, you must renew within 60 days. You’ll be sent a reminder e-mail 5 days before the expiry date. If you have sold your items or not providing services, you do not need to do anything - your listing will be removed automatically after 5 days of the receipt of this e-mail. If you haven't sold your items yet or want to continue providing services, you must renew your FREE ad for another 60-day period by following the instructions given in the e-mail.
- If you sell your items or stop providing services before the posting expiry date, you may remove your classified advertisement anytime by logging on your account.
