In order to search for a specific community on Collabotrade, you visit Browse/Find Communities option under Communities menu. The search results are displayed in an alphabetical order. If you wish to join a specific community, click the Join now link displayed besides this community. Who can build a Community? Top Any individual who is a registered user of Collabotrade can build a community. Your community should fall in the category provided on the Collabotrade website. What is the difference between a public community and a private community? Top Any registered user of Collabotrade can become member of a public community, as there is no authentication procedure involved in this process. However, a private community membership is more secure and requires an authentication (either by the community administrator or by e-mail) before the membership is approved. Therefore, the private community is more trustworthy and secure in comparison with a public community. Why private Communities are "trusted" and public Communities are not? Top Private communities require members to be authenticated before they become part of the communities. The authentication procedure ensures that only members who truly belong to the community are allowed to join the community. As private communities follow an authentication process for approving a new member, private communities are more trusted than the public communities. What is the difference between "E-mail Authentication" and "Authentication by Community Administrator"? Top Communities that provide official email IDs to their members (e.g., cisco.com, rpi.edu, amazon.com) are authenticated by "E-mails". Our system automatically links all your postings to the communities you are member of. As soon as you post an Ad, it is available to anyone who searches in those communities.
