Don McMurtry

Mr. Don McMurtry is a former Vice President of Sales at Research In Motion (RIM), the company behind BlackBerry and a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of innovative wireless data solutions for the mobile communications market.

Mr. McMurtry has worked in sales and marketing since 1988 and joined RIM in 1993 when the wireless-data market was just emerging. He was responsible for a broad range of sales and marketing activities at the company, including the launch of BlackBerry in 1999.

Mr. McMurtry brings unique insight for selling a new or start-up technology to the marketplace. He was educated at Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario and has a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Prior to joining RIM, he was product manager for the RDM Corporation. Mr. McMurtry's sales and marketing career included eight years as Vice President of Sales at RIM from where he retired in 2006.

Pramod Goel

Mr. Pramod Goel has extensive experience building business practices in start-up, growth, and turnaround phases of the company across multiple industries such as healthcare, airlines, nuclear, oil & gas, and manufacturing. While serving in senior management capacities with leading firms, he has delivered many strategic and tactical enterprise solutions encompassing operational restructuring, business process reengineering, and enterprise application implementation.

Mr. Goel’s management consulting experience includes operational assessment, enterprise business modeling, change management, program management, business analytics, mathematical/operations research modeling, departmental infrastructure building, group facilitation/JAD, channel management, implementation methodologies, and creating superior customer relationships.

Mr. Goel has strong cross-industry experience delivering business solutions to Fortune 500 clients including: Air Products & Chemicals, Alyeska, American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch, Australian Government, British Airways, British Energy, Continental Airlines, Ford, Flextronics, Huntsman, Jabil/Varian, Kerr McGee, Occidental Chemicals, Omaha Public Power, PECO Energy, Phoenix International/John Deere, Procter & Gamble, Qwest, State Farm, Veterans Health Administration.

Mr. Goel holds Master’s in Industrial & Systems Engineering and Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. JOE HALPERN

Dr. Joe Halpern is a highly experienced individual whose career has included co-founding his own practice and several key senior level positions in multi-national environments, including Bell Operating Company.

At US WEST Dr. Halpern was responsible for the management of several large projects including a billing system re-engineering effort. He has served Cap Gemini as a director, Vice President, and Business Unit Manager. He later joined BEA systems, where he negotiated several channel partnerships with affiliated organizations. Between these positions, Dr. Halpern often engaged in private consulting engagements, principally for Andersen Consulting.

In the past several years, Dr. Halpern has been active in the early stage development of several companies as an investor and executive.He was on the Executive Board of CTEK Angels, and has been active in the development of other angel investor groups. He is also a board member of several non-profit organizations (e.g. President of The Association of US West Retirees for CO/WY), and is a Commissioner on The Mayor's Commission on Aging. He serves on the Advisory Board of Volunteers of America and has been nominated to serve on an Advisory Board of the Denver Regional Council of Governments. He is also a founder of BoomersInAction, a Colorado 501(c)(3) organization, focused on providing pre- and post-retirement education and services as well as research.

Dr. Halpern holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology (emphasis on Applied Statistics and Research Methods) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
